Once darkness landed, we parked the boat and enjoyed pizza and friendship in front of a cozy fire at Tom & Linda's....great close to a great evening!!

Blue Ridge Parkway Hiking

Wrapped up our hiking in two sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway National Park - especially enjoyed the Moses Cone property - amazing! A friend of Kevin's (Michelle) joined us for the hikes on our last day in Appalachia.....for now...

Blue Ridge Parkway Hikes

Amazing Parkway, 429 miles of the nicest road meandering through the most beautiful National Park with great hikes everywhere. We started at the Moses Cone Memorial Estate (gifted to the National Park Service, wow!!) on the front porch then hiked away from the crowd ...

Moses Cone built 25 miles of "carriage trails" for his own use in the late 1800's, here is what we saw only a few miles in...besides the 4 of us....

It may look like the Von Trapp Family in Austria but it's not....
Further down the BRP we took another hike out onto these amazing rock buffs....

Okay Chicago - Here They Come!

This is it....time to hit the street along with 35,000 of your closest running friends and 1million+ people along the entire 26.2 mile route cheering....

Hero's leading the way - the wheelchair participants were inspiring.....

The "elite runners" were jogging faster than I can run at full-speed, finishing the race in 2 hours and 5 minutes......(makes my body hurt just thinking about it)....

...only milli-seconds behind the Elite Kenyan runners are Kevin (Red shirt & blonde wig, the "run-Forest-run look), Mac (white T & beard)....

....and here comes everybody else chasing the two lead groups at least....amazing sights and sounds in a beautiful world class city...

.....and there they go........thinning out at the 12-mile mark but not much...Just amazing.....

Gametime temp 80 degrees - never been to Lambeau in shorts & flipflops before and it was electric as ever, especially against the Bears...

Distractions....ah, I mean cold beer anyone?
