Neighbors Sue & Al had a fun "Chili Party" where all the invited couples brought crock pots prepared with favorite chili recipes. There were scorecards for us to take notes as we sampled the 8 different batches (with no advance information as to what the batches were made of or anything) before voting for the top recipes....and a trophy!
In the end we tasted a wide variety by the way - Turkey chili, Sweet Potato chili, hot Tex-Mex chili, Pot-Roast chili, Red-Wine chili, Vegetarian chili, and the Grand Prize Winner...Venison chili.
Al had a nice cooler with a huge variety of ice-cold beer....including, get this, "Chili-Beer" from Mexico which (like tequila) had a little present in the bottle, a Serrano chili pepper! What a kick!

So this morning, in honor of the Chili-fest last evening, with the winter snows melting away I was able to get outside (in my shorts!!!!) for a nice long run. Great reward.
